The airport is about 8 kilometers from the old town. On a good day that's 15 minutes. On a bad traffic day, maybe 25. Either way - you have a few options and they all work fine. Here's what they are.

Taxi - Fast, Easy, Cash Only

The taxi rank is right outside Terminal B - you'll see a long line of silver cars. A ride to the old town costs between 14 and 20 KM (roughly €7-10). The meter starts at 1.50 KM and goes up 1 KM per kilometer. One important thing: taxis in Sarajevo are cash only, and most drivers don't speak much English - so have your destination written down. Ask for a receipt when you arrive, just in case. Available 24/7, no booking needed.

Airport Bus - Cheapest Option

There's a direct Centrotrans bus from the airport to the city's main bus station - the same one you'd use if you're heading to Mostar later. Ticket costs around 5 KM (about €2.50). Journey takes 30-35 minutes. Buses run several times a day but not around the clock - check the schedule in advance if you're arriving late at night. This is a great option if you're traveling light and not in a rush.

Trolleybus (For the Adventurous)

There's a trolleybus stop about 600 meters from the airport in Dobrinja (line 103). From there you can connect to trams running to the city center. Ticket costs 1.80 KM. It takes longer and requires a transfer, but it works - and it's the cheapest option of all. Best if you have light luggage and time to spare.
